University Students: Seize the Future with a First Phase of 20 Million Yuan in Changsha Economic Development Zone

Deep News06-17

The Changsha Economic and Development Zone has announced the successful registration of the Changsha Economic Development Zone University Student Venture Capital Investment Fund Partnership. This fund is a key financial initiative by the zone to implement the "Seven One" action plan of the Hunan Provincial Committee and advance the "Starry Sky Plan," aiming to leverage professional venture capital to precisely support university students and young scientific talents in innovation and entrepreneurship, thereby accumulating youthful momentum for regional innovative development.

The fund's initial phase is sized at 20 million yuan, with a focus on key advantageous industries such as automobiles and components, engineering machinery, and new-generation information technology, as well as strategic and future industries including future information (IT), future health (BT), and future energy (ET). The fund primarily employs equity investment as its main method, targeting venture teams led by university students and early-stage technology-based enterprises.

Through an innovative model of "equity investment plus ecosystem empowerment"—providing not only capital "blood transfusions" but also comprehensive lifecycle services such as project incubation, industry matchmaking, and entrepreneurial mentorship—it assists young entrepreneurs in accelerating their growth. This fund is an early-stage venture capital sub-fund within the science and technology innovation mother fund system managed by Oriental Private Equity, a subsidiary of Changsha Economic Development Group, and is operationally managed by the professional platform of the Sany Group, Hunan Sany Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Sany Venture Capital").

Since its establishment in 2016, Sany Venture Capital has deeply cultivated sectors such as intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, and new energy and materials within the broader industrial technology landscape. It currently manages nearly 1.5 billion yuan in assets, has cumulatively invested in over 40 science and technology innovation projects, and has nurtured 2 listed companies and 5 pre-IPO companies, demonstrating profound industrial investment and incubation experience.

In addition to financial support, the Changsha Economic and Development Zone has concurrently constructed four high-standard "Starry Sky" bases, including Sany Zhongchuang, to effectively accommodate the implementation of university student entrepreneurship projects, establishing a full-cycle service system covering entrepreneurship, incubation, cultivation, investment, and industrial chain support.

By synergizing policy, capital, infrastructure, and services, the zone is accelerating the creation of a high-quality ecosystem for youth innovation and entrepreneurship. The successful registration of this University Student Venture Capital Fund represents a significant practice by the Changsha Economic and Development Zone in empowering science and technology innovation through finance and supporting youth entrepreneurship.

Moving forward, the zone will continue to integrate various resources including industry, capital, policy, and infrastructure, continuously optimize the innovation and entrepreneurship environment, and help more young science and technology innovation dreams take root, blossom, and bear fruit here.
