Alibaba Group has announced a leadership change for its workplace collaboration platform DingTalk, with Chen Hang stepping down as CEO and being succeeded by the 1992-born tech prodigy and serial entrepreneur Chen Yusen.

On June 10th, the Alibaba Partnership Committee published an internal post titled "Growth with Compassion and Loyalty is the True Alibaba Culture," taking a clear stance on the recent discussions sparked by a departing DingTalk employee's lengthy essay titled "Inside DingTalk." The committee criticized the DingTalk team's management style in strong terms, explicitly stating that it "is not what Alibaba culture should be." This was swiftly followed by the group's announcement of the management adjustment for DingTalk.

Born in 1992, Chen Yusen is a technically gifted individual who achieved fame at a young age and is a serial entrepreneur with a technology focus, having been selected for the Forbes Asia "30 Under 30" list. He has won numerous championships in top-tier computer competitions both domestically and internationally. At the age of 22, he founded the cybersecurity company Chaitin Tech, which was later acquired by Alibaba Cloud. As a young leader who combines technical prowess with business acumen, he embarked on an internal venture within Alibaba Cloud in 2025, leading the development of the AI Agent product MuleRun.

Upon assuming the role of DingTalk CEO, Chen Yusen becomes the youngest business unit CEO within Alibaba Group.

Recently, Alibaba has been continuously iterating its organizational and management structures to face the AI era with a new formation. Over the past period, Alibaba has successively established new types of organizations like Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) and Token Foundry, incubating AI innovations through small-team setups. These new entities have begun to show results, with a series of innovations such as Happy Horse, Happy Oyster, MuleRun, and Qoder rapidly emerging. A cohort of young technical talents is quickly rising to prominence within this more open and diverse environment.

In its post from the previous day, the Alibaba Partnership Committee emphasized that "people are the most valuable asset," stating that "Alibaba's future lies in innovation. Innovation in the AI era relies on passion and creativity. Only by fully respecting individual value can we truly create customer value and move towards the future."
