On October 23, value investor Duan Yongping wrote on Xueqiu that he had put some money “here” to hide from the bull market and referenced $Berkshire Hathaway A (BRK.A).

Duan relayed a post by a user named Victor Learning Investing, which said that Berkshire Hathaway A had recently reached a record high. The post argued that the milestone suggests investors do not trust their own skill and prefer to entrust their money to Warren Buffett. It also contended that truly navigating cycles is difficult, that many investors are driven by hindsight, luck, or insufficient capability, and that fully understanding a company and a market demands knowledge spanning multiple fields.
