BYD Electronic Shares Drop Over 5% Following Annual Profit Decline and Weak Q4 Performance

Stock News03-30

BYD ELECTRONIC (00285) fell more than 5%, declining 5.56% to HK$28.9 by the time of writing, with a turnover of HK$776 million. The drop follows the company's release of its 2025 annual results, which showed revenue of RMB 179.477 billion, a slight increase of 1.22% year-on-year. However, profit attributable to owners of the parent decreased by 17.61% to RMB 3.515 billion. Earnings per share stood at RMB 1.56, with a proposed final dividend of RMB 0.156 per share. Soochow Securities noted that BYD ELECTRONIC's fourth-quarter profit was RMB 370 million, reflecting a significant year-on-year decline. This was attributed to a higher proportion of low-margin products and increased expense provisions in the quarter. Considering the continued weakness in downstream consumer electronics demand in 2026, the securities firm expects limited growth prospects.
