Nanjing has secured a leading position in Jiangsu Province's push for artificial intelligence integration in manufacturing, with 92 local entities selected as official diagnostic service providers. The list, recently released by the provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology in two batches, features a diverse mix of technology firms, software companies, universities, and research institutes from the city. The number of Nanjing-based selections is the highest in the province, highlighting the city's robust capabilities in merging AI with industrial processes.
Under the Jiangsu Province "AI + Manufacturing" Diagnostic Work Plan (2026-2027), the province aims to conduct in-person diagnostics for 11,700 manufacturing enterprises within two years, striving for comprehensive assessment of AI application levels across all industrial enterprises by the end of 2027. Inclusion on the list grants providers eligibility to participate in specialized diagnostic programs organized by local industry authorities. This offers a direct pathway to engage with key manufacturing enterprises, including those targeted for strengthening industrial chains and building competitive peaks. It serves not only as a channel for securing business but as a critical entry point for providers to integrate their AI solutions into core manufacturing processes such as R&D, production, and quality inspection.
The 92 selected providers from Nanjing span critical sectors including artificial intelligence, high-end equipment, new energy vehicles, new-type power equipment, industrial software, the Internet of Things, and next-generation information and communication. Known for their strong technical expertise and broad application scenarios, these entities are poised to provide substantial support for the intelligent upgrade of manufacturing in Nanjing and across Jiangsu.
A primary function of the "AI + Manufacturing" initiative is to deepen the integration between manufacturing and producer services. The most significant barrier to AI adoption in manufacturing is often not the algorithms themselves, but a shortage of professionals and organizations that possess dual expertise in industrial processes and artificial intelligence.
