U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he plans to meet with "several" candidates to replace Jerome Powell as Chair of the Federal Reserve.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to an event in Pennsylvania, Trump said, "I’ll be considering a few people, but I have a pretty good idea of who I want."
The remarks come amid ongoing speculation about leadership changes at the central bank.
