On October 16 local time, a CCTV reporter learned that U.S. President Trump signed an executive order that day to delay the implementation of a new round of large-scale sanctions against the Russian economy passed by the U.S. Congress.

Trump told Congress that delaying the implementation of these sanctions is in the national interest of the United States.

It is reported that this sanctions measure, named after the late South Carolina federal senator Lindsey Graham, is intended to more quickly cut off the source of funds supporting Russia's military operations in Ukraine.
