China Gold International (02099) has announced that mining operations at its Changshanhao gold mine have resumed, and the company has reaffirmed its annual production guidance for the mine.

As disclosed in the company's announcements dated May 27, 2026 and August 17, 2026, a localized slope instability event occurred at the Changshanhao mine on May 22, 2026. The incident resulted in no casualties or equipment damage. To ensure safety, the Changshanhao mine suspended open-pit mining operations, while ore processing continued using existing low-grade stockpiled ore.

Subsequently, the company engaged external geotechnical experts and professional institutions to carry out geotechnical assessments and design remediation plans. By the end of September 2026, the Changshanhao mine had completed the key phased remediation works required to resume mining operations. These works included restoring the pit road system, completing the clearing of loose material and hazardous rock masses, reinforcing the landslide body, and installing interception and drainage systems. Throughout this period, slope monitoring continued.

A third-party professional institution was commissioned to evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard remediation. The slope geological hazard affecting mining operations has been rectified, and the safety benchmark for resuming normal mining operations in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements has been met. After filing with the emergency management department, mining operations resumed as planned in early October 2026.

During the suspension of open-pit mining, the Changshanhao mine continued to process existing low-grade ore stockpiles, which helped mitigate the impact on gold production. With open-pit mining fully resumed, the Changshanhao mine will continue to implement safety risk control measures and optimize the blending of newly mined ore with stockpiled ore to maintain stable ore supply and processing grades, supporting flexible and efficient production scheduling for the remainder of the year.

Based on the completion of key phased remediation works and the resumption of open-pit mining operations, the company is confident in maintaining a stable production trajectory. The company will continue to closely monitor on-site operations and subsequent engineering progress at the Changshanhao mine, and will provide further updates in due course.
