Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Exceeds Annual Delivery Target

Deep News12-04

On December 1, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), delivered the 158,000-ton Suezmax crude oil tanker "SEA POLARIS," marking the company's 29th vessel delivery this year. With a total deadweight tonnage of 2.7065 million, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has surpassed its annual target by seven vessels.

Tankers have become a core product for the company in recent years, with stable and efficient batch production now established. For example, the 114,000-ton Aframax product tanker series has achieved a dockyard cycle of around 78 days, while the period from undocking to sea trials has been reduced to 40–45 days.

The project team has significantly improved construction efficiency and safety through innovative dockyard processes. By integrating digital management with production workflows, the company has further enhanced its tanker-building capabilities.

Moving forward, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will prioritize quality control and safety while optimizing production processes, strengthening coordination, and improving resource allocation to shorten dock cycles. The company aims to maintain strong momentum as it advances toward the next five-year plan.
