Starbucks announced on Friday that it has appointed Anand Varadarajan as its new Chief Technology Officer, effective January 19 next year. CEO Brian Niccol is driving technological reforms in stores to enhance labor efficiency.
Varadarajan will assume the role following Deb Hall Lefevre's departure in September.
With 19 years of experience at Amazon, Varadarajan previously oversaw technology and supply chain operations for the global grocery business. He has also worked at Oracle Corporation.
