At the World Economic Forum's 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the 2026 Dalian Summer Davos Forum, Yidu Tech (HKEX: 02158) Chairman and Founder Gong Yingying shared her insights.
She highlighted that data security, particularly concerning medical and health information, is a primary concern for everyone. "No matter which country we operate in," Gong stated, "local governments and citizens are deeply concerned about how data is stored, who can access it, and what control mechanisms the Chinese team has implemented."
Gong explained the company's standard approach, which involves storing all data uniformly on government cloud platforms. As this data constitutes public healthcare information, third-party institutions are entrusted with safeguarding its security, managing access permissions, auditing data retrieval activities, and regulating usage rights.
"This type of information consists of sensitive personal medical data," she elaborated. "It is all stored back on the government cloud, with management unified under a third-party agency designated by the government." To protect the company's proprietary technology, Yidu Tech established a joint venture with the Brunei government. The team comprises engineers from both parties, with the cooperation agreement set for a five-year term. According to the established plan, the company will arrange for the transfer of certain technologies during this period.
Gong Yingying emphasized her firm belief that deep localization is essential for successful partnerships worldwide. "Only through deep localization with our partners across the globe," she concluded, "can we deliver healthcare services that are truly usable and beneficial for the local people."
