Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading, has signed a contract with Orient Overseas Container Line for the construction of twelve 13,600 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships. The total value of the project exceeds 15 billion yuan. This bulk order represents a significant milestone in the two-decade-long partnership between the companies and underscores Hudong-Zhonghua's industry-leading position and international recognition in the fields of high-end container vessels and green dual-fuel ship designs.
The newly contracted ship model is a new-generation New Panamax container vessel independently developed by Hudong-Zhonghua. With a length of 335 meters and a beam of 51 meters, the ship can carry up to 13,640 standard containers and is equipped with approximately 1,600 refrigerated container slots. Utilizing LNG dual-fuel propulsion and integrated with an intelligent ship system, the vessel meets stringent international environmental standards through optimized hull design and energy-saving configurations. It features large capacity, low energy consumption, reduced emissions, and high levels of intelligence, making it suitable for operation on major global shipping routes and providing a mature solution for shipping companies upgrading to greener fleets.
