Shares of Bloom Energy Corp (BE.US) climbed sharply on Wednesday, trading up over 23% to $279.4 at the time of reporting. The surge followed the company's announcement of first-quarter revenue that significantly exceeded expectations and an upward revision to its full-year 2026 revenue guidance.
For the first quarter, Bloom Energy reported revenue of $751.1 million, a substantial 130% increase compared to the same period last year. Non-GAAP earnings per share came in at $0.44, also strongly surpassing analyst forecasts.
The company raised its full-year revenue guidance to a range of $3.4 billion to $3.8 billion. The midpoint of this new growth projection was increased to 80%, up from a previous median growth rate of 60%.
Chief Financial Officer Simon Edwards commented on an earnings call, stating, "This marks the first quarter in Bloom Energy's history as a public company with year-over-year growth exceeding 100%."
