PetroChina's First Split-Phase Change Crude Stabilization Heating Unit Enters Operation

Deep News01-23 15:12

As of January 20, the first split-phase change crude stabilization heating unit independently designed and manufactured by PetroChina Company Limited for Jidong Oilfield has been in stable operation for 12 consecutive days. Both its heating power and light hydrocarbon output have precisely met the expected targets, injecting new momentum into the technological upgrade of crude oil stabilization heating processes at Jidong Oilfield.

This split-phase change crude stabilization heating unit marks the first successful cross-disciplinary application of split-phase change heating technology into crude oil stabilization heating, following its widespread use in oil and gas gathering and transportation heating. This innovation fills a technological gap for PetroChina in this specific field. Compared to the tubular heating furnaces and organic heat carrier furnaces used in traditional crude stabilization heating processes, this new heating unit not only has lower construction costs, energy consumption, and operational maintenance expenses but also boasts a longer service life and can easily adapt to工况s with significant fluctuations in crude oil flow rates. More critically, even when the flow velocity of crude oil inside the heat exchange tubes is low, it can completely avoid issues of furnace tube coking and overheating, thereby eliminating potential safety hazards at the root. It demonstrates significant comprehensive advantages for heating crude oil below 140 degrees Celsius.

Testing has shown that the thermal efficiency of this crude stabilization heating unit reaches 93.3%, which is a 5 percentage point increase compared to tubular heating furnaces. This improvement alone is projected to save approximately 200,000 cubic meters of natural gas annually, yielding notable energy-saving and environmental benefits.

To ensure the safe and smooth commissioning of the split-phase change crude stabilization heating unit, Jidong Oilfield established a specialized working group. The team strictly adhered to the commissioning plan, methodically completing the entire debugging process, including system pressure testing and no-load operation. Comprehensive and meticulous inspections were conducted on key equipment such as the power supply and distribution system, thereby solidifying a strong safety foundation for the successful operation of the unit.
