US Initial Jobless Claims Fall To 215,000; Layoffs Remain Low

US initial jobless claims fell 12,000 to 215,000 in the week ended June 20, the Department of Labor said Thursday, below FactSet consensus of 225,000.

The four-week moving average rose 750 to 224,250.

Continuing claims for the week ended June 13 rose 21,000 to 1.82 million. Despite economic headwinds, layoffs remain at low levels.
