REMEGEN Shares Surge Over 6% on Inclusion of Telitacicept in National Essential Drug List

Stock News07-10

Shares of REMEGEN (09995) rose more than 6% during the trading session. At the time of writing, the stock was up 6.16% to HK$87, with a turnover of HK$268 million.

The increase follows an announcement from the company. On July 9th, the National Health Commission, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the National Disease Control and Prevention Administration jointly released the National Essential Drug List (2026 Edition). The company's self-developed, first-in-class BLyS/APRIL dual-target fusion protein drug, Telitacicept (sterile powder for injection: 80mg), was included in the list under the category of "Immune System Drugs."

The new edition of the list includes only two domestically developed Class I biological innovative drugs, with Telitacicept being one of them. As one of the two domestic Class I biological innovative drugs newly added to the Essential Drug List, Telitacicept features a first-in-class dual-target mechanism. It works by simultaneously inhibiting the overexpression of the two cytokines BLyS and APRIL to treat a series of B-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases.

The drug has received approval for five indications: systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, generalized myasthenia gravis, Sjogren's syndrome, and IgA nephropathy (pre-filled syringe). Among these, the indications for systemic lupus erythematosus and generalized myasthenia gravis have already been included in the National Reimbursement Drug List.
