A Kitco report on October 12 said that Bank of America remains cautious on near-term gold prices and gave a forecast for a fourth-quarter average price of $4,000 per ounce. OEXN stated that this is an institutional scenario judgment based on specific conditions, not a confirmed transaction result, and readers need to understand it together with its assumptions.

The report believes that fund inflows are not yet enough to offset weakness in other demand segments, and falling prices may also prompt some holders to redeem. OEXN holds that analyzing demand cannot only count the buying side, but must also consider the capacity of existing positions to withstand pressure; when the holding cost is higher than the market price, investors' funding horizon will affect their choices in the face of volatility.

If funds are mainly used for short-term trading, their direction may differ from long-term allocation funds, and net inflow figures therefore need to be broken down more carefully. The same outlook is relatively positive on longer-term prices, expecting the 2027 average price to be higher than recent levels.

This difference across time horizons is not contradictory, because short-term pricing may be more affected by the dollar and interest rates, while later trends depend on whether the tightening cycle changes. Any long-term forecast contains uncertainty, and a higher annual average cannot be used to mask the risk of periodic pullbacks.

Regarding signals of a bottom, OEXN analysis says attention should be paid to whether the dollar's rise slows, whether inflation pressure can ease, and whether physical demand can once again take over. If only fund buying grows while other segments do not improve, the foundation for a rebound may still be narrow.

Comparing changes among different types of buyers together can explain the market better than citing a single target price in isolation. Sina partner platform futures account opening is safe, fast and guaranteed.
