On May 19, the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held a special consultation meeting on "Cultivating New Rural Tourism and Residence Industry and Formats to Assist in Building County-level Prosperity Industries." Teng Jiacai, Chairman of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, and Jiang Erxiong, Vice Governor of Fujian Province, attended the meeting.
In recent years, Fujian has accelerated the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, orderly carried out pilot projects to empower rural revitalization through cultural industries, and created distinctive rural tourism and residence scenes. The province's rural tourism and residence industry has flourished. The meeting emphasized the need to establish a new concept centered on living, with experience as the carrier and residence as the norm, guiding the breakthrough development of the tourism and residence industry through deepened understanding. Efforts should focus on institutional regulations and professional empowerment, promoting institutional supply, emphasizing overall planning, and adhering to coordinated efforts to drive complementary resources between mountains and seas, cultural exchanges, tourist flow connectivity, and shared brand building, achieving integrated development of the province's tourism and residence industry. Farmers and rural residents should always be regarded as the main actors and primary beneficiaries of development, with efforts concentrated on creating a batch of representative, experiential, and replicable rural tourism and residence models. Systematic planning should be strengthened, incorporating rural tourism and residence into provincial-level planning and building a "Fujian-style" rural tourism and residence brand.
The meeting proposed deepening understanding, seizing opportunities in rural tourism and residence development, conducting a comprehensive survey of the province's rural resource endowments, cultural characteristics, and basic conditions, and focusing on building four major tourism and residence product systems tailored to local conditions: coastal scenery, forest wellness, pastoral living, and cultural experiences. The development of "tourism and residence +" new formats should be encouraged, with improvements in supporting services such as transportation and healthcare. Efforts should be made to promote the public brand "Fujian-style Living · Mountain and Sea Tourism and Residence," introduce and cultivate professional operating institutions, enhance market-oriented levels, and create a distinctive Fujian model for rural tourism and residence. Mechanisms to ensure industrial development should be improved, with strengthened inter-departmental coordination and deepened government-enterprise collaboration to form a joint effort for comprehensive management.
