MEITU Shares Surge Over 12% in Morning Trading as Q1 Paid Subscriptions Hit Record High

Deep News05-08

MEITU (01357) saw its gains continue to widen during the morning session, with its share price rising by 12.50% to reach HK$5.31. The trading volume amounted to HK$632 million.

The company released its business data for the first quarter of 2026. The figures show that its number of paid subscription users has increased to 17.9 million, setting a new historical record. Revenue from imaging and design products, primarily driven by paid subscriptions, reached 852 million yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 34.3%. For the first time, the company disclosed the Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) metric for its AI productivity applications. As of March 2026, the ARR for AI productivity applications was approximately 580 million yuan, marking a growth of 56.2% compared to the previous year.

Analysis suggests that with the continued refinement and maturation of Agent workflows in 2026, the technology is expected to become more user-friendly for small and medium-sized businesses where job role distinctions are often less clear. The significant increase in token consumption driven by Agent usage is anticipated to gradually translate into higher Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), creating a dual growth engine from both paid subscriptions and ARPPU. This is projected to jointly support steady revenue growth in productivity-focused scenarios.
