Gree Electric Showcases Strength as One of China's First "Pioneer-Level" Smart Factories

Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai (Gree) has been recognized as one of China's first 15 "Pioneer-Level" smart factories in the 2025 Smart Factory Gradient Cultivation List, jointly released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and five other government departments. The Gree Jinwan Factory was honored for its "All-Value-Chain Gree Synergy House Air-Conditioning Smart Factory" project.

At the 2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference, Gree Chairman Dong Mingzhu, Vice President Fang Xiangjian, and representatives from other pioneer-level smart factories jointly launched the "Pioneer Action Plan" initiative. This achievement highlights Gree's decade-long commitment to digitalization and intelligent manufacturing.

The "Pioneer-Level" designation represents the highest tier in China's four-level smart factory system, requiring global leadership in AI applications and future manufacturing models. Remarkably, the Gree Jinwan Factory advanced from "Excellence-Level" to "Pioneer-Level" in just 10 months, setting an industry record for intelligent manufacturing upgrades.

The factory's success stems from its innovative "Gree Synergy House" model, which integrates industrial internet platforms, data systems, and AI algorithms. This approach enables end-to-end data-driven optimization from consumer demand analysis to product lifecycle delivery, serving as a replicable model for industries like home appliances, electronics, and automotive.

Inside the factory, automation dominates with 86 out of 103 processes fully automated in the 480-meter assembly line. Staff requirements have dropped from 70 to 20 workers per line, with critical processes like helium testing achieving 100% unmanned operation. The facility boasts 200% higher productivity than traditional models and complete digital coverage.

Gree has also developed core technologies including electric spindles and machine vision systems to ensure self-sufficiency in smart factory construction. The company's decade-long focus on independent innovation has transformed it from a consumer goods manufacturer to an industrial solutions provider.

The recognition of Gree Jinwan Factory marks a significant milestone in China's intelligent manufacturing advancement, demonstrating the country's progress toward high-quality industrial development.
