The rally follows an announcement from Tesla Motors on May 21st regarding the latest deployment of its Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, which explicitly mentioned its availability for use in China. Recent reports indicate that Tesla China has posted multiple job openings related to intelligent driving testing, fueling industry speculation about an accelerated rollout of FSD in the Chinese market.
Inquiries made to Tesla's official customer service revealed that the RMB 64,000 intelligent driving assistance package is not compatible with all vehicles, with some only supporting the RMB 32,000 enhanced autopilot feature. The representative stated the company is actively advancing approval procedures in accordance with national regulations and will push the update to domestic customers as soon as approvals are secured.
During the Q1 earnings call on April 23rd, Tesla's Chief Financial Officer explicitly stated the company is in close communication with Chinese regulators, aiming to secure full approval for FSD in China by the third quarter of 2026. Concurrently, Tesla China is accelerating its technical groundwork. In early May, Tesla updated its owner's manual to version 2026.14, officially adding complete feature descriptions for FSD V14, thereby further refining its intelligent driving support information for the Chinese market.
