Block's peer-to-peer payment application, Cash App, announced on Monday that a new group of retailers has integrated its Afterpay and Cash App Pay products at checkout, providing consumers with more flexible payment options for their summer purchases.
The new additions to the retailer list are as follows: Brands newly offering Afterpay include Dog Friendly Co, GlassesUSA, Herff Jones, Jaxxon, k2o by Kylie Jenner, Kat The Label, Minky Couture, Monday Swimwear, Nanit, Rally House, REDVANLY, Shokz, and WeWoreWhat. Brands newly offering Cash App Pay include Fubo, Instacart, Lime, and Sweetgreen. Brands now offering both Afterpay and Cash App Pay include Made-it Pro, Shoe Carnival & Shoe Station, and Squire.
The Head of Marketing at Monday Swimwear stated that the company is constantly seeking ways to make shopping more enjoyable. Integrating Afterpay allows customers to purchase high-quality swimwear through installment payments, enabling confident shopping and management of payments at their own pace, whether building a summer swimwear wardrobe or treating themselves.
The Heads of Commercial Product for Afterpay and Cash App Pay noted that the growing number of brands and increased flexibility provide consumers with more payment choices. Afterpay and Cash App Pay serve different customer needs, and together they offer merchant partners a robust set of tools to meet shoppers' requirements at every stage of the purchase journey.
Afterpay allows consumers to split their purchase amount into four interest-free installments or monthly payments. Cash App Pay enables Cash App users to pay directly from their account balance or a linked bank account. Together, they reflect Cash App's commitment to simplifying the checkout process and providing greater flexibility with the brands consumers love.
According to relevant financial reports, Cash App's monthly active transacting user base increased by 4% year-over-year, and primary account active users grew by 18% to 9.7 million. This new wave of retailer partnerships further expands the integrated payment ecosystem of Cash App and Afterpay. The two companies have previously completed several deep integrations, including the full launch of Afterpay on Cash App Card in early June. This feature allows eligible users to convert everyday spending into installment payments at any merchant that accepts Visa, not just at merchants that offer Afterpay directly.
