Yunnan Baoshan: "Green Gold" Boosts Farmers' Income

Deep News11-19

On November 17, farmers were harvesting wasabi at a plantation in Lengshui Village, Yangliu Bai and Yi Ethnic Township, Longyang District, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province. Located in the Gaoligong Mountain region, Baoshan's natural conditions are ideal for wasabi cultivation.

In recent years, the local government has promoted standardized and large-scale wasabi farming, creating industrial development opportunities for mountainous areas and increasing farmers' incomes. Currently, Baoshan has become China's largest wasabi-growing region, with domestic market share rising annually. The product is also exported to Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asian countries, demonstrating promising growth potential.
