Benchmarking Top-tier Grid Infrastructure: Cross-County Power Link Benefits Communities

Deep News12-11

On December 7 at 18:35, the 10 kV Zheren Line, spearheaded by Southern Power Grid's Dushan Power Supply Bureau in Guizhou's Qiannan Prefecture, was successfully energized. This marks the inaugural operation of a cross-county distribution network linking Dushan County and Pingtang County, enabling mutual power support between the two regions.

The project emerged as a response to winter peak demand and the growing electricity needs of Dushan's stone industrial park. Since its launch in October, young technicians from Dushan Power Supply Bureau volunteered for the task force, tackling challenges like cross-regional coordination and community negotiations. During surveying in Pingtang's Lajie Village, the team identified a conflict between planned utility pole locations and residential construction plans. They promptly redesigned the route overnight, adding 40 poles and 2,000 meters of line to safeguard local interests while ensuring project progress.

Collaborating across departments, the youth team optimized logistics with 24/7 material support, refined construction plans, and conducted outreach in 42 villages to explain policies in accessible terms. Their efforts slashed the project timeline from 90 to 50 days, completing 1.52 km of lines and 294 poles with high quality.

The new line enables 5,000 kVA load sharing, resolving low-voltage issues along its path and powering the stone industrial park. As a key initiative by Duyun Power Supply Bureau to build a first-class grid, the 10 kV Zheren Line enhances regional grid resilience, benefits communities, and bolsters economic growth. Moving forward, Dushan Power Supply Bureau will refine joint maintenance mechanisms with Pingtang counterparts, with youth teams leading cross-county operations and emergency coordination to strengthen regional power infrastructure for local development.
