A fully automated robot hotel, offering services from island guidance and luggage handling to check-in, is set to be established on the West Artificial Island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge. This innovative project aims to provide visitors with a futuristic experience as soon as they arrive on the island. Additionally, a technology exhibition and interactive experience zone will be open to the public, allowing even non-guests to witness the appeal of robotic services up close.

The Shenzhen Cultural Tourism Industry Development Co., Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with a robotics company to jointly develop this smart hotel on the West Artificial Island. The hotel is scheduled to commence trial operations in early 2027.

Xiao Han, Head of Smart Tourism at Shenzhen Cultural Tourism Industry Development Co., Ltd., highlighted that the West Artificial Island is a world-class cross-sea engineering project with unique island landscapes and a strategic location in the Greater Bay Area. It serves as an ideal platform for integrating technology and tourism. "By launching this flagship project here, we aim to transform engineering value into cultural tourism value and convert visitor traffic into sustained engagement, elevating the West Island from a transportation hub to an immersive cultural tourism destination," Xiao stated.

Regarding the future positioning of the West Artificial Island, Xiao Han explained, "Going forward, the West Artificial Island will be positioned as a benchmark for integrating technology and tourism in the Greater Bay Area, combining super engineering, smart technology, digital culture, and maritime leisure. It will serve as a high-quality 'maritime reception hall' for the world and the Greater Bay Area."

On the development of the robot smart hotel, Xiao Han noted that the hotel will provide comprehensive, all-scenario, and round-the-clock intelligent services, covering seven core areas: guest reception, luggage guidance, room service, food delivery, comprehensive cleaning, security patrols, and interactive companionship. Visitors will experience uninterrupted 24-hour intelligent services with efficient and standardized responses.

The robot hotel project will be implemented in phases, with continuous upgrades and optimizations. The plan includes step-by-step completion of scenario setup, equipment deployment, system integration, and operational improvements. "In the future, we will continue to expand the application of intelligent services. On one hand, we will enhance the capabilities of robot services and introduce more personalized and immersive technological experiences. On the other hand, we will integrate the smart system with the overall cultural tourism ecosystem of the West Island, enabling intelligent management across the entire process from island arrival, sightseeing, accommodation, to consumption. Our goal is to make technology omnipresent and continuously elevate the visitor experience," Xiao Han added.
