Fair Isaac Partners with First Tee to Foster Youth Leadership and Credit Education

Deep News06-03

Global analytics software leader Fair Isaac has announced a deepened partnership with youth development organization First Tee, investing to support its national programs and providing credit education resources to its chapters, participants, and alumni. The collaboration aims to leverage the platform of golf to help young people develop life skills, build character, and foster confidence.

Under the terms of the agreement, Fair Isaac will conduct hands-on credit education events at First Tee chapters, including live interactions during local tournaments. The First Tee chapters in the Miami and Atlanta metropolitan areas are the initial beneficiaries of these on-site initiatives. Fair Isaac will make its full suite of credit education tools and resources available to First Tee chapters and alumni nationwide. This includes the free comprehensive credit literacy program Score A Better Future Fundamentals and the Banzai platform, a free credit education resource used in over 70% of U.S. schools.

The partnership was first activated at the inaugural Cadillac Championship in Miami. Nearly 100 First Tee participants joined professional golfer Keegan Bradley for a putting challenge, live golf demonstrations, a Q&A session, and a credit education workshop led by Fair Isaac. The workshop connected classroom lessons on discipline, resilience, and financial confidence to real-life scenarios. Charles De Lucca, President of First Tee Miami, stated, "The kids had the opportunity to meet Keegan Bradley and hear from him, while also participating in Fair Isaac's workshop to learn how good credit can help them succeed in life."

A consumer survey conducted by Fair Isaac revealed that 79% of Americans believe high schools should offer financial education, while 28% of Gen Z adults do not consider themselves financially literate. Nikhil Behl, President of Fair Isaac Software, noted that FICO Scores impact key life moments from renting an apartment and paying for college to buying a car, yet most young people lack an understanding of how credit scores work. He said, "Partnering with First Tee is a natural extension of our work to change that, meeting youth in an environment where they are already actively engaged."

This impact-focused collaboration builds upon earlier work between Fair Isaac and First Tee, which previously included chapter-level events in Canada and North Carolina. Fair Isaac is one of the largest credit scoring agencies in the United States, with its FICO Score used by 90% of top U.S. lenders and its business operating in over 100 countries.
