Focuslight Technologies Inc. (688167.SH) has announced that it recently received notification from AG, a prominent European automotive Tier 1 supplier, regarding the termination of a specific components project. This cancellation follows the official discontinuation of the end vehicle manufacturer's planned model launch, for which the LiDAR system was intended. The end customer explicitly stated that the decision was based on its own strategic planning adjustments and is unrelated to AG or its suppliers.
The canceled project, which had an originally scheduled mass production start in 2026, was estimated to have a lifecycle demand of approximately 500,000 units. The company had delivered about 2,700 sets, and the project was still in the pre-mass production preparation phase. Focuslight Technologies is currently engaged in commercial discussions with AG concerning core issues related to the project termination. These discussions, guided by contractual terms and international trade practices, cover aspects such as performance obligations and the handling of unexecuted contract value.
As of the announcement date, all previously disclosed LiDAR-related designated projects have now been canceled. The company's earlier strategic focus on the LiDAR business direction has not yielded the anticipated results. For the third quarter of 2025, revenue from the LiDAR business accounted for approximately 0.81% of the company's total revenue. The company stated it will continue to monitor industry developments and will prudently plan its future business direction.
