Artistic Experiences Illuminate Spring Holiday with Unique Cultural Flair

Deep News07:40

During the spring break and the May Day holiday, major cultural venues will transform into surprising "art theaters." According to the Provincial Cultural Center, when national treasures in museums come to life and converse with children, when scientific experiments unfold as captivating stories on stage, and when classic hits collide with stand-up comedy to create unique sparks, a series of immersive performances will be offered. Professional troupes, including the Liaoning People's Art Theatre, will deliver high-quality stage arts directly to residents and tourists.

The "Five Venues Unite for Spring Joy"—2026 Spring Break and May Day Cross-Border Carnival, jointly launched by the Provincial Cultural Center and the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, will fully integrate small theater resources from cultural venues across the province. Collaborating with art troupes, the event will feature immersive performance experiences covering various art forms such as musical comedy, original children's situational dramas, and science-themed children's plays. With rich program content and innovative cross-border integration, the activities will present a spectacular cultural feast for local residents and visitors to Liaoning.

The most distinctive feature of this small theater series is its cross-border fusion. The Provincial Museum will bring small theater performances into its historic halls. From May 1 to 4, the Liaoning People's Art Theatre, together with the Liaoning Electric Sound Orchestra, will present the "Classic Hits Musical Comedy"—a special "Golden Years" edition, allowing familiar melodies to gain new vitality alongside cultural relics. From May 1 to 5, the original children's situational drama "Time Travel: The Adventure of Liaoning Museum's National Treasures" will be staged daily, turning the museum into a time tunnel where treasures that have slept for a millennium awaken, guiding children through history and unlocking long-sealed cultural codes.

At the Provincial Science and Technology Museum, small theaters will serve as innovative platforms for science education. From May 1 to 4, the Liaoning People's Art Theatre (Liaoning Children's Art Theatre) will present two outstanding children's plays, "The Chosen Little Dark Horse" and "The Ugly Duckling," skillfully integrating scientific principles and experimental elements into stage performances. Through interactive storytelling and audience engagement, viewers will appreciate art while experiencing the charm of science, creating fresh and lively educational scenarios.
