Pioneering AI Talent Program Launches with Inaugural Student Intake

In 2024, Hefei University of Technology and KNOWLEDGE ATLAS have formalized a partnership to establish a pioneering Large Model Innovation Experimental Class, marking its inaugural student recruitment this year across undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels to systematically advance industry-education integration.

The university-enterprise collaboration is designed to create a closed-loop training model that bridges academic exploration with industrial application, featuring elite small-class teaching for undergraduates, enterprise-driven research projects for master's students, and a focus on foundational technology breakthroughs for doctoral candidates.

KNOWLEDGE ATLAS will provide access to authentic research projects and computational resources, while Hefei University of Technology will leverage its three ESI top 1‰ disciplines and key Ministry of Education laboratories to jointly cultivate top-tier innovative talent in artificial intelligence.

Recently, Hefei University of Technology and KNOWLEDGE ATLAS signed an agreement in Beijing to collaboratively nurture outstanding innovative talent at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. The jointly established Large Model Innovation Experimental Class within the Intelligent Science and Technology major will welcome its first cohort of students this year.

Attendees at the signing ceremony included Hefei University of Technology President Wang Meng, KNOWLEDGE ATLAS founder Liu Debing, and scientists Li Juanzi and Tang Jie. Artificial intelligence serves as the core engine of the new wave of scientific and technological revolution, with next-generation AI technologies, particularly large models, profoundly reshaping the global industrial landscape.

In response to major national strategic needs, Hefei University of Technology has initiated a deep collaboration with KNOWLEDGE ATLAS, a leading domestic enterprise in the large model field. This partnership aims to elevate industry-education integration from project-based cooperation to systematic co-construction, jointly creating a new paradigm for cultivating top innovative talent in AI.

According to the agreement, both parties will establish an integrated joint training system covering undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, forming a closed loop between "exploration of academic frontiers" and "real-world industrial implementation." Specifically, the undergraduate program will establish the Large Model Innovation Experimental Class within the university's School of Artificial Intelligence Innovation, focusing on cutting-edge large model areas with an elite small-class teaching model.

The master's program will feature the KNOWLEDGE ATLAS Innovation Experimental Class, where students will engage in research training based on the company's advanced projects and computational resources. The doctoral phase will concentrate on tackling fundamental large model technologies, with joint supervision provided by mentor teams from both the university and the enterprise.

As a leading company in China's large model and AI sector, KNOWLEDGE ATLAS will open its authentic research projects, core technology platforms, and industrial application scenarios to students involved in the joint training program. This will support their exploration in frontier areas such as multimodal large models, intelligent agents, and embodied intelligence.

Hefei University of Technology, a national "Double First-Class" initiative university, boasts three disciplines, including Computer Science, ranked in the global top 1‰ by ESI. It possesses high-level research platforms such as the Ministry of Education's Key Laboratory of Big Data Knowledge Engineering, providing a solid disciplinary foundation and robust research capabilities in artificial intelligence.

Through the deep integration of industry and educational resources, both parties will construct a complete training chain encompassing theoretical learning, research training, and engineering practice.
