Shares of Yancoal Australia (03668) climbed 6% on Thursday after the company reported higher equity share coal sales and production in the third quarter of 2024.
According to a filing with the Shanghai bourse, Yancoal Australia's attributable coal sales rose year-over-year to 10.4 million tons in Q3 from 8.6 million tons a year ago. Coal production also climbed to 10.2 million tons, up from 9.3 million tons in the same period last year.
Despite the increased sales and production volumes, the company's average realized price declined to AU$170 per ton compared to AU$197 per ton in the previous year's quarter.
