Fuel Price Update: Next Adjustment Set for September 11

Deep News12:51

According to the established mechanism for fuel pricing, the upcoming adjustment is scheduled for 24:00 on September 11. With half of the current pricing cycle now complete, the trend has reversed from an initial decline to a projected increase, with estimated gains surpassing 0.15 yuan per litre, making another price hike highly likely.

Escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and heightened shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz have driven a rapid surge in the risk premium on crude oil. This week, both international and domestic crude benchmarks have posted significant gains.

Calculations at the fifth working day of the cycle indicate that gasoline and diesel are expected to rise by 160 yuan per tonne and 155 yuan per tonne, respectively. In retail terms, this translates to an increase of 0.13 yuan per litre for 92-octane gasoline, 0.14 yuan per litre for 95-octane gasoline, and 0.13 yuan per litre for 0-diesel. As a result, filling a 50-litre tank is projected to cost motorists an additional 6.5 to 7 yuan.
