Singapore Stocks to Watch: Keppel, Ascott Residence Trust, NetLink, HRnetGroup

THE following companies saw new developments that may affect trading of their securities on Tuesday (Aug 16):

Keppel: Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M), through its wholly owned subsidiary Keppel Shipyard, has secured a contract worth about US$2.9 billion.

The contract was awarded by Brazil's national oil company, Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras), according to a Monday (Aug 15) press statement. It involves the engineering, procurement and construction of P-80, a floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO).

Slated for completion in the first half of 2026, the P-80 is the second FPSO that Keppel O&M will be building for Petrobras for the Buzios field in Brazil, with the first FPSO, P-78, currently under construction.

Ascott Residence Trust: The acquisition is said to be accretive to ART’s yield and will increase its distribution by $9.2 million.

The managers of Ascott Residence Trust (ART) have proposed to acquire nine quality assets across five countries from its sponsor, The Ascott Limited.

The assets, which comprise serviced residences, rental housing and student accommodation properties, come at an estimated total capitalised cost of $318.3 million.

NetLink: During the quarter, revenue rose 4.8% y-o-y to $97.9 million, while EBITDA rose 5.0% y-o-y to $73.0 million.

The manager of Netlink NBN Trust has reported a profit after tax (PAT) of $27.6 million for the 1QFY2023 ended June, 11.3% y-o-y.

HRnetGroup announced on Tuesday (Aug 16) that it has registered a new branch in Kaohsiung under its subsidiary RecruitFirst (Taiwan) (RFT), as part of its “strategic initiative to further accelerate the rapid growth of RFT in the flexible staffing space”.

Together with RFT’s 3 business leaders cum co-owners, HRnetGroup will also commit another S$1 million to fund further expansion in RFT.
