On the news front, international oil prices have continued to climb recently, while European natural gas prices have risen to their highest level since 2022. Earlier, Norwegian natural gas transportation system operator Gassco announced that the Troll gas field experienced an unplanned outage from October 25 to 26, affecting 6.1 million cubic meters per day. Ping An Securities noted that the geopolitical deadlock in the Middle East is unlikely to be resolved in the short term, with both the U.S.-Iran and Yemen situations carrying significant escalation risks. The security situation in the Strait of Hormuz has deteriorated, and the probability of the U.S. launching a new round of military strikes against Iran is rising. Meanwhile, the Yemen situation is escalating in a spiral, with Houthi forces continuing to launch attacks on airports and oil facilities within Saudi Arabia, significantly impacting Saudi Arabia's crude oil exports and refining operations. In summary, geopolitical risks continue to provide strong support for international oil prices.

Looking ahead, Guosen Securities stated that turbulent geopolitical conditions in the Middle East, shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, combined with the suspension of Caspian Sea crude pipeline operations, have significantly contracted stable global crude oil supply. Low inventory levels amplify price elasticity. In a high oil price environment, upstream oil and gas companies have ample profit elasticity, and coal-to-olefins producers with low-cost advantages as well as overseas integrated refining and chemical enterprises may benefit significantly. It also noted that due to geopolitical conflicts, the upstream oil and gas exploration sector is expected to maintain high prosperity, and refining and chemical enterprises with overseas production capacity and export qualifications are expected to see improved profitability.
