Coolpad Group (02369) released its Environmental, Social and Governance Report for the year ended 31 December 2025, highlighting a sharp contraction in environmental impacts following the February 2025 exit from direct cryptocurrency mining.
Environmental Performance • 2025 greenhouse-gas emissions fell 55.5% to 10,344 tonnes, driven by a 73.6% reduction in electricity use to 33,755.4 MWh. Purchased power still accounted for 99.3% of total emissions. • Scope 1 emissions from vehicle fuel slid 21.8% to 32.0 tonnes after a cutback in fleet mileage. • Hazardous waste generation edged down 16.7% to 0.50 tonnes; non-hazardous paper waste declined 44.4% to 0.50 tonnes. • Water consumption dropped 29.5% to 25,128 m³, reflecting closure of the Dongguan in-house manufacturing facility in June 2025. • No material non-compliance with environmental laws was reported.
Climate Governance The board supervises ESG strategy, approves targets and receives annual progress updates. An internal ESG working group coordinates data collection and risk assessment. Physical risks (extreme rainfall, cyclones) and transition risks (future carbon pricing, resource taxes) have been identified, while opportunities include circular-supply-chain efficiencies and “green” product demand.
Social Metrics • Total headcount stood at 81, down from 218 a year earlier after the restructuring of self-run R&D manufacturing. Average monthly turnover rose to 12.2% (2024: 4.5%). • Employees completing formal training numbered 16, logging 128 training hours; females accounted for 75% of trainees. • No work-related injuries or fatalities were recorded for the fourth consecutive year. • Labour-compliance audits found no child or forced labour cases.
Supply Chain & Product Responsibility Coolpad sourced from 34 Mainland suppliers, down from 45 in 2024, and reported 12 product-quality complaints on 181,908 units shipped, with no product recalls. Seven new patents were granted during the year.
Anti-Corruption No legal cases of bribery, extortion, fraud or money laundering were recorded. A whistle-blowing mechanism and an “Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption Management Policy” remain in force.
Community Investment Charitable contributions reached HK$1.10 million and CNY0.11 million, supporting education, sports and healthcare programmes.
Board Composition As at report date, the seven-member board comprised two executive, two non-executive and three independent non-executive directors, with one female member. Diversity factors—experience, gender, age and culture—are reviewed periodically.
Looking Ahead Coolpad plans to reinforce energy-saving measures, pursue circular-economy initiatives with suppliers and refine climate-risk assessment methodologies, while sustaining stakeholder engagement across its core smartphone operations.
