Alphabet's (GOOGL) artificial intelligence (AI) model, Gemini, is now fully accessible in Hong Kong. According to reports, the company has announced the rollout of the Gemini experience to all users in Hong Kong. This update is being implemented in phases, with an initial focus on promoting the adoption of the Gemini web application, which will later be extended to include mobile app access. Prior to this expansion, Gemini was only available to enterprise users in Hong Kong, while individual consumers required a virtual private network (VPN) to access the service.

With the opening of the Gemini service region in Hong Kong, local users can now directly utilize Google's AI model to assist with various daily tasks. These include composing complex emails, generating ideas for personal projects, and planning family trips. The model can also process and generate multimedia content such as images and music, and interact through text, images, and voice. However, it remains unclear whether the version being made available includes the latest model updates.

Gemini's capabilities have been integrated into and power Google's ecosystem. Various communities in Hong Kong, including businesses, developers, educators, and students, have been consistently using these features. The General Manager of Sales and Operations for Google Hong Kong stated, "We believe expanding the Gemini experience will drive greater creativity and productivity in Hong Kong and help us achieve our goal of 'Innovating Possibilities for Hong Kong Together.' Moving forward, we will continue to responsibly build a full-stack AI ecosystem to make AI more helpful for everyone."
