OmniVision Publishes 2025 ESG Report: SBTi-Validated Net-Zero Target, RMB 3.68 Billion R&D Spend and Expanded Solar Output

OmniVision Integrated Circuits Group (OMNIVISION) has released its sixth Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, outlining a year of intensified climate action, record R&D investment and strengthened corporate governance.

Double-Materiality Governance Upgrade • The Board elevated its Strategic Development Committee to a “Strategy and ESG Committee”, creating a three-tier ESG governance structure stretching from board to working-group level. • Independent oversight was reinforced with three of nine directors designated as independents; women now hold 25.58% of management roles. • Business-ethics coverage reached 100% of employees, with zero corruption cases in 2025.

Climate & Environmental Performance • OmniVision’s U.S. subsidiary secured Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validation for a 2050 net-zero goal across Scope 1-3 emissions. • Rooftop solar generation rose to 2,162 MWh at Shanghai Songjiang Park and 527 MWh at Shaoxing, lifting total clean-power output to 2,689 MWh. • Songjiang achieved a 68% process-water recycling rate and won both “Green Factory” and “Zero-Waste Factory” status. • Total 2025 greenhouse-gas emissions reached 51,624 tCO₂e (8.38 tCO₂e per capita), up from 39,804 tCO₂e as capacity expanded. • Hazardous waste totalled 280 tonnes (-15% YoY) while non-hazardous waste stood at 1,643 tonnes.

Innovation & Product Stewardship • R&D spend hit RMB 3.68 billion, 15.46% of revenue and +13.38% YoY; R&D staff numbered 2,681 (43.52% of workforce). • Patent portfolio expanded to 4,993 grants, including 4,787 invention patents. • Key launches included the OV50R CMOS image sensor with 20% lower power consumption and the OP03021 ultra-low-power LCOS panel for smart glasses. • OmniVision USA obtained ISO 21434 certification for automotive cybersecurity; Shanghai operations added ISO 21434 and ISO 13485 (medical devices) coverage.

Responsible Supply Chain & Customer Focus • 100% of 3TG minerals sourced from Responsible Minerals Initiative-approved smelters; 62 suppliers underwent enhanced ESG audits. • Six product/service complaints were fully resolved; no safety recalls recorded. • Supplier environmental and social certification coverage exceeded 95% for ISO 14001 and 100% for ISO 9001/IATF 16949.

People & Workplace • Global headcount reached 6,160; female employees represent 47.80% and hold over a quarter of management posts. • Turnover rate stood at 5.34%; average training hours were 14.59 per employee with 100% coverage in anti-harassment, anti-discrimination and forced-labor prevention modules. • No work-related fatalities; 11 recordable injuries resulted in 475 lost days. • Expanded Employee Assistance Programme, new decompression rooms and health seminars underpin the firm’s “people-first” agenda.

Community Investment • Public-interest spending totalled RMB 555,000, supporting children with disabilities, rural education, and food-relief programmes. Employees volunteered 422 hours across 390 individual participations.

OMNIVISION states it will continue scaling renewable energy, deepening supply-chain ESG integration and sustaining high-level R&D outlays to balance growth with global sustainability imperatives.
