Second 300,000-ton Crude Oil Terminal in Jiangsu Commences Operations

Deep News05:20

On May 27, the 300,000-ton crude oil carrier "Xin Ji Yuan" successfully docked at Berth 173 in the Xuwei Port Area of Lianyungang Port and commenced crude oil unloading operations. This marks the official commissioning of Jiangsu's second 300,000-ton crude oil terminal, which fully establishes a public channel for the rapid import and export of Sinopec's crude oil in Jiangsu. The terminal will provide efficient and stable crude oil import services for refining and chemical enterprises in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

As a key port infrastructure project jointly funded by Sinopec Petroleum Sales Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Lianyungang Port Co., Ltd., the Xuwei Port Area's 300,000-ton crude oil terminal is designed with an annual throughput capacity of 18.5 million tons and a total berth length of 412 meters. Its official operation, through efficient coordination with the Lianyungang Crude Oil Commercial Reserve Base and the National Pipeline Network's crude oil pipeline from Lianyungang to Huai'an to Yizheng, will effectively reduce comprehensive logistics costs for enterprises. While enhancing the functional layout of Lianyungang Port, it addresses the growing crude oil demand gap in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River region, further improving the security of the crude oil supply system along the river. The terminal aligns closely with the development and layout adjustment needs of Jiangsu's petrochemical industry, providing robust energy support for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
