Advanced Micro Devices has detailed the technological advantages of its Ryzen AI Max series and Ryzen AI 400 series processors at a recent product showcase. The event featured new Ryzen AI 400 series laptops from OEM partners including Asus, Lenovo, Mechrevo, and ThinkPad, alongside Ryzen AI 400 series mini PCs from Minisforum and Beelink. Additionally, notebooks equipped with Ryzen AI Max series processors from partners such as Asus, HP, ROG, and Xuan Pai were demonstrated.
Earlier this year at CES, AMD introduced the Ryzen AI 400 series processors designed for Windows 11 AI+ PCs, as well as the Ryzen AI Max+ 392 and Ryzen AI Max+ 388 processors for premium ultra-thin notebooks and compact desktops. These new processors aim to deliver next-generation AI experiences for consumer AI PCs, enabling extremely fast, intelligent, and secure Windows 11 AI+ systems. The Ryzen AI Max+ processors bring high-performance AI computing capabilities, integrated desktop-class graphics, and a unified memory architecture to high-end ultra-thin laptops, workstations, and small-form-factor PCs.
The AMD Ryzen AI 400 series processors are built on the advanced "Zen 5" architecture and incorporate an NPU based on the second-generation AMD XDNA 2 architecture. This NPU delivers AI computing power of up to 60 TOPS, exceeding the performance requirements for Windows 11 AI+ PCs and enabling seamless local AI experiences. With up to 12 high-performance CPU cores, integrated AMD Radeon 800M series graphics, and support for higher memory frequencies, these processors deliver leading performance, extended battery life, and smarter computing across a variety of device form factors.
The Ryzen AI Max+ series processors combine energy-efficient AMD "Zen 5" CPU cores, AMD Radeon 8060S series graphics, and an NPU based on the second-generation AMD XDNA architecture.
