At the Amazon Web Services China Summit, Amazon.com Global Vice President and Amazon Web Services Asia Pacific Co-President Chu Ruisong stated that the inflection point for the explosive growth of Agentic AI has already arrived.
This development is underpinned by the continuous enhancement of model capabilities and the increasing maturity of the Agentic engineering framework, which together form a mutually reinforcing flywheel effect.
On one hand, model capabilities are achieving sustained breakthroughs in a competitive race, constantly surpassing new thresholds in intelligence, from reasoning and code generation to multimodal understanding.
On the other hand, the Agentic engineering system based on these model capabilities is maturing rapidly.
Chu Ruisong pointed out that the Agentic engineering system is a structured engineering capability that transforms model power into intelligent agents capable of reliably delivering business outcomes.
This engineering framework has undergone rapid evolution over the past two-plus years, gradually forming a three-tiered, progressively inclusive system.
The first tier is the initially prominent Prompt Engineering, which focuses on researching the most effective prompts to make the model "understand what you want it to do."
The second tier, which the industry began focusing on over a year ago, is Context Engineering, aimed at studying how to input the correct information, tools, and memory to the model at the appropriate time, enabling it to "grasp what it needs to know."
The final tier, which has become a focal point in the last six months, is Harness Engineering, which focuses on building a stable execution framework around the model, including agent loops, tool calling, evaluation, retries, and guardrails, allowing the model to "reliably complete tasks."
Chu Ruisong emphasized that the maturation of Agentic engineering practices, in turn, provides real-world feedback for improving model capabilities, clearly guiding model developers on which application scenarios require stronger capabilities and which boundaries urgently need to be pushed.
With the formal initiation and acceleration of this flywheel, the arrival of the inflection point for Agentic AI's explosion has been propelled.
