Allegations of Misleading Labeling on Chen Keming's Egg Noodles: Low Egg Content Sparks Debate

Deep News05-18 16:21

Recently, the actual egg content in egg noodle brands has drawn public attention. Chen Keming's Egg Fine Noodles have been criticized for containing a very low proportion of egg ingredients while heavily promoting their nutritional benefits.

In Chen Keming's flagship store, a 150-gram package of its Egg Fine Noodles lists whole egg powder content as ≥0.5‰, or five ten-thousandths. Whole egg powder is a powdered ingredient made from fresh eggs through shell removal and spray drying, classified as a deep-processed egg product. Approximately 1 gram of whole egg powder equates to 4.25 grams of fresh eggs. This means a 150-gram package of Chen Keming's Egg Fine Noodles contains only about 0.31875 grams of fresh egg.

In response to questions about the low egg content, customer service from Chen Keming's flagship store stated, "This is an egg-flavored noodle. The addition of egg primarily alters the overall texture and taste compared to regular noodles. If you seek more nutritional benefits from eggs, you may add additional eggs when cooking."
