CONANT OPTICAL (02276) rose nearly 3%, gaining 2.02% to HKD 50.5 by the time of writing, with a turnover of HKD 6.6029 million.
The uptick follows the recent launch of Alibaba's Quark AI glasses, for which CONANT OPTICAL exclusively supplies lenses. The company employs optical integration bonding technology to combine vision correction and display functions in a single lens, achieving nanoscale precision and over 98% light transmittance.
Oriental Securities noted that the retail price of Quark lenses includes a 13% value-added tax and the manufacturer's profit margin, suggesting Alibaba may not impose excessive premiums, particularly on 1.74 high-index lenses. This positions eyewear firms for strong profitability.
The brokerage highlighted that smart glasses' weight is a key consumer decision factor, giving manufacturers with ultra-thin lens production and bonding technology a critical edge in the supply chain.
Zhongtai Securities pointed out that CONANT OPTICAL, a leading domestic resin lens producer, benefits from its first-mover advantage in 1.74 high-index lenses and an innovative C2M (Customer-to-Manufacturer) service model. Continuous product mix optimization has enhanced profitability, while advanced lens manufacturing and C2M capabilities form the foundation for expanding into smart glasses lenses.
