At the 2026 Inclusion Bund Conference, held from September 9 to 12 at the Shanghai Huangpu World Expo Park, a spirited exchange unfolded regarding how much money tech executives would entrust to AI agents. When asked how much they would allow an Agent to spend on their behalf by this time next year, Ant Group Co., Ltd. CEO Han Xinyi's response was a modest "200 yuan," drawing a lighthearted contrast to the more ambitious figures discussed by his peers.
OPPO's Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu, seated nearby, playfully raised the stakes, stating, "If Alipay provides the guarantee, I'd be comfortable with up to 1,000 yuan." This prompted Han to immediately adopt a confident, assertive tone, retorting, "We'll back you up—if you dare to pay, we dare to compensate." The exchange underscored the growing confidence in AI-driven financial transactions and the security measures underpinning them.
Adding to the discussion, Alibaba Group's Chief Scientist Zhou Jingren offered a bolder perspective, noting, "Once we resolve all aspects of secure execution, there really is no upper limit." His comment highlighted the potential for AI agents to handle increasingly significant financial responsibilities as safety mechanisms evolve.
Interestingly, Han stood out as the only panelist who has personally used an Agent for shopping. He revealed that just last week, he used the AI assistant A-Fu to purchase healthy snacks like nuts and seaweed. "It successfully placed the order on my behalf, and I'm grateful for the collaboration with Taobao Flash Purchase," Han shared with a smile, offering a tangible example of how these technologies are already being integrated into everyday life.
