Nine Premium Baijiu Variants See Price Gains Led by Wuliangye and Guojiao 1573, Total Market Value Hits 3-Day High

Deep News08-07

Data from the "Baijiu Price Reference" channel, newly launched by Sina Finance, shows that the total retail terminal prices for major baijiu products in the Chinese market saw a rebound on August 7. If a single bottle of each key product were bundled together, the total selling price today would be 9,853 yuan, up 28 yuan from yesterday, reversing the previous decline and hitting a three-day high.

Today, nine major baijiu products experienced price increases, with only two—Xijiu Junpin and Yanghe Dream Blue M6+—seeing slight declines. Market sentiment among terminal retailers has turned bullish, with long positions regaining some ground, signaling a temporary halt to the recent consecutive downturn in the baijiu sector. Among the 11 major products tracked, nine posted gains and two fell, giving bulls a clear advantage.

Leading the gains, Wuliangye Yibin Co.,Ltd.'s Pu Wu Eighth Generation, Guojiao 1573, and Moutai Premium each rose by 10 yuan per bottle, becoming the top gainers today. The Pu Wu Eighth Generation stabilized at the 790 yuan price level, supported by tightened channel supply, retailer stockpiling, and shortages. Feitian Moutai and Qinghua Lang both increased by 2 yuan per bottle, with the former recovering to 1,969 yuan, maintaining a volatile trend near its post-hike high range, while the latter halted its previous losing streak. Qinghua Fen 20 rose by 3 yuan, while Wuliangye Yibin Co.,Ltd.'s 1618, Gujing Gong Gu 20, and Shuijing Jiannanchun each edged up by 1 yuan, with several regional baijiu brands also reversing their downtrends.

On the downside, only two products recorded losses today. Xijiu Junpin plunged 10 yuan per bottle, ending its brief, independent rally from yesterday. Yanghe Dream Blue M6+ dropped 2 yuan, continuing its range-bound oscillation.

The "Baijiu Price Reference" daily data is sourced from approximately 200 data collection points distributed across major regions nationwide, including designated distributors, social distributors, e-commerce platforms, and retail outlets. The raw sampling data captures real transaction terminal retail prices from the past 24 hours, aiming to provide objective, scientific, and fully traceable market price data for major baijiu products. With the official iMoutai platform launching sales of 1,499 yuan per bottle Feitian Moutai (adjusted to 1,539 yuan on March 31, and again to 1,639 yuan on July 18), and 2,299 yuan per bottle Premium Moutai (adjusted to 2,359 yuan on May 16) starting January 1, the magnetic influence of this new channel on the average terminal retail prices of these two products is gradually becoming apparent. The daily price data published by "Baijiu Price Reference" follows a volume-weighted calculation rule, incorporating measurable prices from this channel into the terminal retail price calculations for both products.

In key industry news, on August 6, multiple liquor merchants across regions raised the wholesale price of the Eighth Generation Wuliangye, with box wholesale prices rising by over 100 yuan and single bottle prices increasing by 30 yuan. Some distributors are now facing shortages and have halted order submissions, pausing deliveries. This price increase stems from Wuliangye tightening channel subsidies, raising procurement costs for distributors. Currently, Wuliangye's official channels have not responded to the price hike. Earlier, the "Baijiu Industry Reference" channel, a sister program to "Baijiu Price Reference," reported from distributors and industry insiders that Wuliangye recently reduced multiple subsidy investments for channel distributors, raising the overall cost of the Eighth Generation Wuliangye for distributors from around 800-850 yuan per bottle to 850-900 yuan per bottle, an increase of about 50 yuan per bottle compared to before the subsidy cuts.
