Li Auto-W (02015) saw its shares rise more than 5% during the trading session. As of the time of writing, the stock was up 4.95%, trading at HKD 68.9, with a turnover of HKD 682 million.

The surge follows recent developments where Li Auto's Chairman, Li Xiang, conducted an online all-hands meeting. He clearly stated the company's intention to develop its first humanoid robot and aims to have it unveiled and operational as soon as possible.

Furthermore, to compete in the new wave of AI advancements, the company is initiating another round of organizational restructuring for its R&D department. The R&D team is expected to be reorganized into three main units: a base model team, a software entity team, and a hardware entity team, all focused on accelerating the development breakthrough for the humanoid robot.

Huatai Securities released a research note stating that Li Auto aims to become the top-performing enterprise in the field of embodied intelligence within the next 3 to 5 years.

The institution believes that technological implementation is expected to accelerate under the more efficient organizational structure. It notes that embodied intelligence can achieve scenario-based breakthroughs through Vision-Language-Action models, and the synergy between these elements will form the core of Li Auto's competitive differentiation by 2026.
