Cxmt Corporation (688825) announced on the morning of August 29 that its self-developed next-generation low-power memory, LPDDR6, has entered mass production and will debut in the Xiaomi 18 Fold foldable flagship smartphone. This marks the first global commercial deployment of LPDDR6, a milestone that positions the Chinese memory maker as the first domestic enterprise to achieve a world-leading production launch in the high-end memory standard arena.
According to Cxmt's semi-annual report, the LPDDR6 chip leverages architectural innovation and advanced data transmission optimization to fully unlock data transfer potential, delivering peak rates of up to 12,800Mbps with a maximum capacity of 16GB per chip. As AI demand accelerates, LPDDR6 is increasingly viewed as a critical enabler for on-device AI computing power, with applications spanning smartphones and PCs, as well as extending into intelligent cockpits and AI data centers.
With this first-mover advantage, Cxmt has not only secured a leading position in the next-generation technology race that global memory manufacturers are vying to dominate, but has also laid a crucial foundation for domestic smartphone and other device makers to seize AI-driven growth opportunities.
