Kura Sushi USA, Inc. (KRUS) experienced a sharp after-hours plunge of 8.51% following the release of its fiscal third quarter 2026 financial results.
The decline was driven by quarterly sales that slightly missed analyst expectations and a reduction in the company's full-year revenue outlook. Kura Sushi reported Q3 sales of $85.9 million, which came in below the consensus estimate of $86.5 million. While adjusted EBITDA of $6.6 million beat expectations, comparable restaurant sales decreased 0.4% as a 5.1% decline in customer traffic offset a 4.7% increase from pricing.
Furthermore, the company lowered its fiscal 2026 sales guidance to a range of $330.5 million to $331.5 million, down from its previous outlook of $333 million to $335 million. The earnings report also highlighted challenges from higher food and beverage costs, which the company attributed primarily to tariffs on imported ingredients.
