At 7:00 AM yesterday, inside the assembly workshop of the ZEEKR Smart Factory (Meishan), robotic arms moved precisely along preset paths while automated guided logistics vehicles shuttled between workstations. Operating at full capacity since last September, this mega-factory has maintained a non-stop two-shift rhythm, producing nearly 1,000 vehicles daily.
This bustling scene epitomizes the rapid growth of Beilun's industrial economy. In the first half of the year, the industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in Beilun District reached 52.91 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, firmly securing the top growth rate in the city. This achievement is not driven by a single industry alone. Among the district's 10 key sectors, 6 recorded growth rates above the city average, with the high-end equipment sector expanding by 42%. Furthermore, 735 private industrial enterprises above designated size achieved an industrial added value of 23.62 billion yuan, up 21% year-on-year.
The deep synergy of the industrial chain is the core driver of this growth. Automobile manufacturing is a pillar industry in Beilun, currently hosting 138 enterprises in the new energy and intelligent connected vehicle chain, forming a complete ecosystem from components to the three-electric system. "Within tens of kilometers, you can find almost all the parts needed to assemble a car," stated a relevant official from the Beilun District Economic and Information Bureau. Components from companies like Tuopu's chassis structures, Haitian and Feishi's powertrain systems, and Jifeng's headrests and seats are all integrated into mainstream global vehicle models. The ripple effect of chain leaders continues to amplify: In the first half of the year, ZEEKR delivered a cumulative 178,400 vehicles, a 97% increase year-on-year; Jifeng Co., Ltd. secured a seat assembly project order from a new energy vehicle manufacturer, with a total estimated lifecycle value of 2.45 billion yuan; and among new business orders received by Minth Group last year, 82% were related to new energy vehicles.
While the industrial chain builds the foundation, the innovation chain provides empowerment. Among the top 20 domestic die-casting mold enterprises, 11 are concentrated in Beilun. Recently, the joint project "Integrated Die-Casting Using Heat-Treatment-Free, Strengthened and Toughness-Enhanced Aluminum/Magnesium Alloys and Their Application Technology," involving ZEEKR, LK Group, and Saivd, was awarded the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. Ningbo Zhenzhi Machinery Mold Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Ningbo Innovation Research Institute of Beihang University, successfully developed two "world's first" products: a 250-ton integrated die-casting mold and a 1,200-ton load clamping machine. From material breakthroughs to equipment manufacturing, the innovation and industrial chains are deeply integrated here, injecting strong technological momentum into industrial growth.
Innovation extends beyond technological breakthroughs, notably reflected in the intelligent transformation of traditional industries. During this year's World Cup, the Shenzhou Group secured a core order for the first time, producing the jerseys for six teams sponsored by Adidas. From the championship match conclusion to the launch of the commemorative champion jersey in the Chinese market, it took only four days. "This is the first time our company has fully developed a national football team jersey. Winning this order among global suppliers was due to our rapid response, flexible production capacity, and intelligent manufacturing lines," said Xu Hui, business development manager of Shenzhou Group.
"We will continue to drive the quality and efficiency of two thousand-billion-level industrial clusters through standardized construction, focus on developing new productive forces, and use precise services to ensure projects accelerate and expand," stated a Beilun District official. From industrial chain synergy to innovation chain empowerment, and from extending and strengthening the chain to precise services, Beilun is systematically solidifying its industrial growth foundation, contributing greater strength to the city's high-quality development.
