AI's Role in Health: Extending Lifespans and Enabling 'Reverse Aging'

At the 12th Innovation Annual Meeting of the China Entrepreneurs Forum held in Shanghai, the founder and chairperson of Bloomage Biotechnology Corporation Limited (ASX: 688363) shared insights on the intersection of artificial intelligence and health.

She noted that the advancement of artificial intelligence, particularly over the last three years, has significantly expanded humanity's understanding of the boundaries of life. The perception of lifespan is being continuously redefined.

The traditional goal of living to 100 was once considered excellent, but in recent years, the target has shifted to exceeding 120 years, then 150 years, and now some propose reaching 180 years. The limits of life are constantly being pushed. Theoretically, life could be eternal, but current environmental factors and the emotional complexities of human existence impact physical health.

She discussed that artificial intelligence enables earlier intervention for pre-disease conditions. By intervening before a disease state develops, the onset of such illnesses might be prevented. Furthermore, she suggested the possibility of 'reverse aging,' where a person's biological state could potentially revert from that of a 50-year-old to a 30-year-old over a decade.

She contrasted the traditional model of seeking treatment only after falling ill, where the same disease received a standard treatment for all patients. The development of artificial intelligence now facilitates personalized strategies, tailoring approaches to each individual, a direction in which healthcare is already progressing.
