Guangxi's E-commerce Sector Shows Robust Growth Momentum

Guangxi's e-commerce sector has maintained strong development momentum this year, driven by the integration of online and offline channels, coordinated urban-rural development, and the synergistic advancement of domestic and international economic cycles, injecting vigorous energy into the regional consumer market. According to monitoring data, the online retail sales in Guangxi exceeded 18 billion yuan during January and February, marking a year-on-year increase of 20%.

During the first two months of the year, both physical goods and non-physical goods sales advanced simultaneously. Online retail sales of physical goods approached 9 billion yuan, up 7.7% compared to the same period last year, while online retail sales of non-physical goods surpassed 9 billion yuan, rising 34.4% year-on-year. Rural e-commerce accelerated its pace, with online retail sales in rural areas exceeding 3.6 billion yuan, an increase of 11.4%. Within this segment, online sales of fruits and vegetables grew by 18.3% and 28%, respectively. Live-streaming e-commerce continued to demonstrate its strength, generating nearly 2 billion yuan in online retail sales, a growth of 7.65% compared to the previous year. Market vitality remained robust, with over 3,500 new online stores specializing in physical goods opening during the period.

In recent years, Guangxi has leveraged the four key advantages of e-commerce—connecting production and consumption, integrating online and offline channels, bridging urban and rural areas, and linking domestic and international markets—to facilitate smooth domestic circulation and enhance dual circulation, thereby promoting high-quality development in the e-commerce sector. By introducing platform resources, the region has assisted enterprises in expanding their online marketing operations.

The "Four-Season E-commerce Festival" initiative continues to gain traction, creating a vibrant online consumption atmosphere with themed activities each season and monthly events. During the 2026 China (Guangxi)-ASEAN Online New Year Shopping Festival held earlier this year, online retail sales in the region surpassed 14 billion yuan, up 13.8% year-on-year. Sales of physical goods exceeded 7 billion yuan, increasing by 3.6%, laying a solid foundation for e-commerce growth throughout the year.

Efforts to cultivate talent and deepen platform collaborations are progressing simultaneously. In early April, the 2026 Guangxi E-commerce Benefit Enterprises and People—Silk Road E-commerce Live-Streaming Special Training will be launched. The Autonomous Region's Department of Commerce will collaborate with instructors from leading platforms such as "Yuhui Tongxing" and Douyin E-commerce to offer specialized live-streaming training for e-commerce enterprises, live-streaming practitioners, ASEAN students studying in Guangxi, and ASEAN youth. The event will adopt a "main offline venue + domestic and international branch venues" format, with online overseas branches providing interpretation in minor languages and offline sessions offering simultaneous interpretation in Chinese and English. This talent development initiative aims to help establish a new supply chain model characterized by "ASEAN production + Guangxi distribution + China sales."

Additionally, from March 29 to 30, the "Oriental Selection Sees the World · City Tour—Nanning Stop" event will be held, featuring Yu Minhong and his anchor team visiting Nanning. The event will combine cultural tourism broadcasts with agricultural product sales, allowing viewers to enjoy scenic views while purchasing quality goods. In April, JD.com Fresh's investment promotion conference, which brings together a full range of fresh product categories, will take place in Nanning. Concurrently, the "2026 JD.com Campus E-commerce Competition" will be organized for Guangxi's university students, focusing on three tracks: live-streaming sales, private traffic growth, and community operations, to provide a platform for promoting high-quality products from Guangxi.

These series of e-commerce innovations and the implementation of platform resources are continuously stimulating Guangxi's consumption potential, providing strong support for building an efficient and smooth modern circulation system and fostering high-quality regional economic development.
