Regulator Flags Concentrated Ownership in Modern Chinese Medicine Firm

Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission has conducted an inquiry into the shareholding structure of Modern Chinese Medicine Group (01643). The investigation revealed that as of March 30, 2026, twenty-five shareholders and their associates collectively held 652 million shares in the company, representing 90.6% of its issued share capital. Consequently, only 67.6747 million shares, or 9.4% of the issued capital, were held by other investors. The company's closing share price surged 316% from HK$0.51 on December 31, 2025, to HK$2.12 by March 30, 2026. On April 13, 2026, the share price closed at HK$2.94, reflecting a 476% increase compared to the HK$0.51 closing price on December 31, 2025.
